Ecobutton
The ecobutton? is an illuminating USB device that acts as a reminder and a prompt for the user to press it's butto at every opportunity whenever the computer is going to be left idle. This could be from taking a phone call or break, to doing paperwork or going to lunch and meetings where otherwise the
computer would normally be left on. This is because people generally do not like turning off their computers because of the time it often takes to restart. When the ecobutton is pressed it engages the computer into energy saving ‘ecomode’. This ensures that both the computer and monitor are set to operate in the most efficient, lowest power mode available, which actually draws only the same nominal power as when the computer and monitor are turned off!
When you need to use the computer again, simply press any key to instantly return to where you left off!

Did you know?
Computers and monitors can account for half of the electricity used in a typical offi ce. A single monitor left switched on overnight can use the same energy as a laser printer producing 800 A4 printed copies - and don’t be fooled by a screensaver – the computer is still working at full power to run this!

*One third or more of energy used on a PC and
monitor is wasted energy!

*This wasted energy can cost around £50 or more a year.

The savings
The amount of energy that a computer and monitor use varies depending on its age, model, and the programmes and applications in use. A PC switched on 8 hours a day engaging ‘ecomode’ for 3 hours could save around £50 in electricity cost per year. If the PC is left on overnight the saving could be £100 or more - or the equivalent of 600kgs of CO2. Indirect savings can be made with air conditioning systems as they do not have to work so hard because less heat is generated from computers actively using the ecobutton. Because the button stays illuminated even during ecomode, this can provide a useful reminder that all unnecessary computers, lighting, heating and air conditioning etc... should be be switched off at the end of the day.

Radiator Booster MKIII?
New improved MKIII version now in stock

? Now with automatic thermostat control – switches on at approx. 30 degrees Celsius
? Now adjustable to fit smaller and larger radiators
? Now made from recyclable Polycarbonate
? Now manufactured with one (more powerful) fan for quieter and cheaper running
? Will save an average household between £70 to £140 on heating bills per annum

How does Radiator Booster? II actually work and save energy?

This ingenious device works in 2 ways;
1) Your central heating boiler will use around 15 kilowatts of energy every hour (some even more). The clever fan arrangement within the Radiator BOOster? draws heat from your radiator, heating your room in up to half the time, allowing your boiler to shut down much sooner. If you could save just one hour a week of your boiler working, you would save 15 kilowatts of energy. You could easily find the savings more than this, between 7 and 14 hours/week (over 100 kilowatts) during the colder
months.

2) As your radiator heats up, the ‘rear’ surface normally radiates heat onto your wall, heating this up, which in turn is lost through the wall structure due to conduction. The Radiator Booster? sucks most of this wasted heat and fires it into your room, significantly reducing the losses, saving you even more energy. It really is as simple as that!

How much energy does it really save?

This will depend on how you use the Radiator BOOster, and for how long. But UK energy providersstate that reducing your thermostat setting by one degree Celsius could save the average home £70/year or 10% of your heating bills. Most tests carried out with Radiator Booster? have achieved more than 2 degrees reduction.

Can it be used with Radiator Covers?

YES. Most definitely. Provided you can fit the device in place under your cover, you will save up to 3 times as much energy. Covers prevent a radiator from ‘radiating’ its heat, relying solely on
‘convection’. Radiator Booster? enhances that convection at least three fold, distributing huge
amounts of trapped heat.

Can I leave it running 24/7?

YES. As the new Radiator Booster? 2 has in built thermostat that switches on at around 32 degrees Celsius and switches off when the radiator temperature drops below this point.
Should I turn it off when my radiator cools down? This is an option, but is not necessary as the thermostat control will automatically control the use of the integral fan.

Could I plug it into a timer unit to avoid me remembering to turn it on/off?

Yes. A standard ‘event timer’ could be used, the power supply plugged straight into it.

Surely the materials used to manufacture the Radiator Booster? themselves impact on the world’s resources?

Yes, like most things this is true. But we have designed the product to use the absolute minimum of materials and substances, and in return achieve huge energy savings over many years. The ‘trade-off’ is well worth doing. The Radiator Booster? 2 is also fully recyclable.

My radiator is very long. Do I need to use two of these?

You can do, but it should not be necessary. The simple movement of air created by Radiator
Booster? will normally lead to good convection in your room.

Where should I place it on my radiator?

As far to the back and centralised along the length of your radiator should optimise the performance. However, if you place it to one end, it should still work adequately. On some radiator designs you will find that the device will drop down slightly behind the top of the radiator. This further enhances the performance.

Can I use it on oil filled radiators, electric storage radiators, or electric convection radiators?

NO. These types of radiator reach far higher surface temperatures than water filled rad

Radiator Reflector Foil
A magnetically fixed heat radiant foil that reflects heat back to the room rather than being absorbed by the wall. This foil can be installed at the rear of the radiator and through it’s high heat reflecting performance, the foil reflects the warmth back to the room and prevents the heat going into the wall. No need for glue, paste or removal of the radiator – this is the quickest and simplest system available today.

Application:

Comeswith 10 metres of self-adhesive magnetic tape for easy installation behind the radiator.
Simply cut the tear proof foil to suit the radiator size, and place the magnetic tape on the surroundings of the foil with the self-adhesive side of the magnetic tape. Now you can easily take this and place it behind the radiator; corrections can be easily made by slidingthe foil at the rear side. The magnetic tape allows corrections but is also strong enough to retain the position once aligned.
If you want to clean or remove, simply take the foil off, clean and then replace again. By using magnetic fixings removal and reposition is very easy.

Souvenir Cranwell Battery Regenerator
A great environmentally Friendly Low Current System for recovery of discharged alkaline batteries. Not long on the market this technology is based on a Thomas Edison patent of 1922. Thomas Edison discovered that the main reason why alkaline batteries becomes discharged is the accumulation of impurities and foreign matter on and in the positive electrode and the coating of the active material with a scale or crust which seriously impairs the efficient operation of cell.

The Cranwell Battery Regenerator replicates this process by thoroughly and gently cleaning the electrodes over an average 72hour period but does it inside the battery itself. This process is absolutely safe and dos no damage to the battery. Nothing is added to the battery; it just releases the potential that is already there. One battery can be regenerated up to 100 times.
Capacity of regenerated batteries depends on manufacturer, discharge and storage conditions. Our and our customers’ tests show that most of the alkaline batteries, for example Duracell Plus, Duracell Ultra, Segasa Evolution, Energizer Ultra, many own brand batteries such us Morissons, Tesco etc. can be regenerated up to 95% of its original capacity. Power consumption of the Regenerator is very low and cost of regeneration is less than a tenth of penny.

The Cranwell Regenerator can also regenerate some non-alkaline batteries. For example Heavy Duty Single-Use batteries (Panasonic Special, Sky and etc) can be regenerated up to 60% of its original capacity. Titanium batteries (Energizer E2) can be regenerated up to 80% of its original capacity.

Summary:

? Advanced processor control for simple plug and go operation.
? 4 charging docks for regenerating AA and AAA
? Simultaneous regenerating of mixed types and sizes
? Completely safe againstovercharge, overheat, short-circuit,
and polarity reversal
? LED indicator turns off when renewing process is complete
? Regenerates most brands of batteries
? Saves money

Technical specification

Input Voltage: 100-240V DC 50-60Hz
Output Voltage: 1.8V DC per channel
Output Current: 35mA max. per channel

Below, is the difference between existing SINGLE USE BATTERY CHARGERS and THE CRANWELL ALKALINE BATTERY REGENERATOR.

Existing single use battery regenerator

-Single-use battery chargers use pulse current up to 200 mA
or/and temperature on recharge.

- Pulse current is used for avoiding overheating single-use
battery because between current pulses, battery is cooling.

- Temperature control is used for quick recharge, current
breaking or switching on fans when battery overheats. The
simplest method for temperature control is measurement of
internal battery resistance.

Advantage:

1.Fast charging (up 16 hours).

Disadvantages

1. All batteries are different. They have different quality of
electrodes surface and electrolyte heterogeneity. So a setup
suitable for one battery may not be suitable.

Another battery even though it is of the same type or in the
same lot. As a result some batteries being charged in the same
unit may overheat leading to possible leakage, boiling or even
explosion. No one method can be used to measure individual
battery overheating; only an average temperature can be
measured.

Overheating causes irreversible change of structure of
electrolyte and electrodes. This is why alkaline batteries
cannot be recharged more than 5-10 times and why single-use
batteries cannot be recharged.

2. Chargers do not clean electrodes and do not remove the crust
which forms inside the battery. This crust is the main cause of
overheating leading to the degradation of batteries

3. Chargers have complex circuitry resulting in high costs and
low reliability.
